Kathy Santamaria El Bayoumi

Kathy Santamaria El Bayoumi is an immigration attorney who represents individuals in a wide range of immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the National Visa Center (NVC), and in federal litigation.

Born in El Salvador to Honduran and Salvadoran parents, Kathy understands that immigration is more than a legal process; it is a deeply personal journey that often carries uncertainty, hope, and life changing opportunities. Her background has given her an appreciation for the challenges many immigrant families face and inspired her passion for helping others navigate the U.S. immigration system. She is committed to ensuring that every client feels heard, understood, and supported, no matter how straightforward or complex their case may be. She believes every client deserves individualized attention, honest guidance, and an advocate who will take the time to understand their unique circumstances.

Prior to joining Contreras Edin Law, Kathy practiced immigration law in both the nonprofit and private sectors, where she represented individuals and families across a broad range of immigration matters. These experiences gave her valuable insight into the diverse challenges clients face and reinforced her commitment to accessible, client-centered advocacy. Throughout law school, Kathy actively participated in numerous pro bono initiatives, legal clinics, and extracurricular organizations that strengthened her advocacy skills and shaped her approach to practicing law. Those experiences continue to influence her commitment to providing thoughtful, compassionate, and effective representation.

Outside the office, Kathy enjoys discovering local coffee shops, searching for the best matcha in the Twin Cities, and firmly believes there's always room to try one more café.
