Gloria Contreras Edin is the Owner and Managing Attorney of Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. Ms. Contreras Edin has brought the firm to where it is now from the ground up. She opened the firm in July
Ms. Contreras Edin received her Juris Doctor in May of 2005 from Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Ms. Contreras Edin received her Bachelors of Arts from California State University in 1996 for Sociology.
Ms. Contreras Edin (“la abogada Gloria”) loves her job. She gets to make people smile when she helps immigrant children and their families stay together in the United States. As part of her job, Gloria frequently goes to court where she works very hard at protecting the rights of children and adults who are facing removal from the United States.
Ms. Contreras Edin has two young children of her own – Josh who is 15 and plays soccer and Erik who is 18 and plays the guitar. She is married to Dr. David Cook, Chief Clinical and Operating Officer at the Jiahui International Hospital in Shanghai, PRC. When she is not at work, Gloria likes to read books, ride on her unicycle, sing Karaoke and dance to her favorite music – Salsa! Ms. Contreras Edin was born in California and lived there until she moved to Minnesota in 1998. She remains a California girl at heart, and frequently visits her family there. She attributes her success to the smart and talented people who work with her at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC.

Lucy S. Egberg
Lucy S. Egberg is a Senior Attorney at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. Ms. Egberg represents individuals in a variety of immigration matters including asylum, U visas, VAWA Petitions, removal proceedings, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, and consular processing. Ms. Egberg represents individuals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service, U.S. consulates abroad, and the Executive Office of Immigration Review. She also has experience representing clients in criminal court.
Prior to joining Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC, Ms. Egberg worked as an immigration attorney at a law office in Minneapolis. Before this, Ms. Egberg worked as a law clerk and certified student attorney at the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office. She represented clients on record before the court during first appearance and arraignments, and negotiated plea deals for misdemeanors and bail conditions in felony court. Ms. Egberg was also a legal intern at the Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
Ms. Egberg lives with her husband and two young children, August (5) and Rosemary (8). Throughout her life, Ms. Egberg has spent a substantial amount of time in Bolivia, studying, volunteering, and visiting family. Ms. Egberg is licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Zamora is an Associate Attorney at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. She is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota and the State of Nebraska. She is also a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Minnesota. She received her Juris Doctor in 2014 from William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota and her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 2005 from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She worked as a social worker in Minnesota from 2007 to 2013.
Ms. Zamora previously worked at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC, assisting with cases part time while studying for the bar exam. She then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to work as a Child and Family Staff Attorney at Justice for Our Neighbors - NE. She has now returned to Minnesota to join Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC as an attorney.
Ms. Zamora grew up in Burlington, Iowa. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading books with happy endings.

Carrie H. Peltier
Ms. Peltier is an experienced criminal defense Attorney who works, on a contract basis, in association with Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC on cases requiring specialized criminal knowledge and other complicated immigration matters. She is also the owner of her own firm, Peltier Law, PLLC. Her longstanding relationships with Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC and her extensive legal experience are an asset to our clients.

Laurie J. Perez
Ms. Laurie J. Perez is the Lead Paralegal at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. She oversees the support staff, case distribution, and manages a select number of immigration cases at the firm. Ms. Perez works directly with clients to gather evidence, draft affidavits, and prepare applications for immigration cases. Her role is to support the attorneys and staff in preparing accurate and high quality applications for USCIS, EOIR, and the US consulates across the world. She began her career working as a legal assistant at Wilson Law Group in August 2009 and joined Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC as a paralegal in December 2013. Her specialties include working on waivers of inadmissibility, family based petitions and consular processing, adjustment of status, removal defense, and naturalization cases.
Ms. Perez is originally from Minnesota and her interest in working with immigrants originated from spending a year abroad in Bolivia as a high school exchange student. her husband is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico and she has three children. In her free time, Ms. Perez spending time with her children, being in the outdoors, and traveling to visit friends and family across the world.

Ms. Elizabeth Banos is a Legal Assistant at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. Ms. Banos began working at the office in April, 2014 as a Receptionist. Over the year Ms. Banos has taken on more responsibilities and has obtained many roles as a Legal Assistant. She graduated from High School in the year of 2010. After graduation Ms. Banos enrolled at Inver Hills Community College to start her Paralegal Certificate Program.
Ms. Banos also assist the office with new cases and is learning the Immigration process.
Ms. Banos is fluent both in English and Spanish. She is a native from White Bear Lake, MN. Ms. Banos lived in Los Angeles, California until she was five years old and moved to White Bear Lake, MN and has lived there for 19 years. On her free time Ms. Banos loves to spend quality time with her two daughters and husband at the park and movies. Ms. Banos plans to continue her college education towards her Paralegal Certificate.
Ana Reynoso Morales
Ms. Ana Reynoso Morales is a Legal Assistant at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. Ms. Reynoso Morales started with the office in September of 2012. She graduated from High School in 2010.
She assists the law office in many different ways. Ms. Reynoso Morales translates documents for clients, and she also interprets in interviews with immigration. She loves assisting clients and meeting new people.
Ms. Reynoso Morales is both fluent in English and Spanish. She is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ms. Reynoso Morales lived in Mexico City, Mexico for ten years with her family. In her free time, she loves spending time her family especially with her son who was born in 2010. Ms. Reynoso Morales plans on going back to school in order to become a Paralegal.
Jannet Caceres is the Bilingual Receptionist/Legal Assistant at Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. She welcomes visitors and enhances their sense of comfort in a professional ambiance. Also, she answers the phone, screening calls and directing them appropriately. Jannet thoroughly enjoys working with clients and building those relationships. In addition to clerical and other general duties in the office, she renders assistance to attorneys by helping them to prepare case files.
Jannet has prior experience at The Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, ILCM as an intern in 2014. She gained valuable experience after completing her Paralegal Progam at Inver Hills Community College. She previously volunteered with Neighbors, Inc. by helping low income community in the Christmas program and front desk. Mrs. Caceres is fluent in both English and Spanish. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and her baby boy.
Anastasia Walhovd is the Office Manager of Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC and the accountant for the firm. She became fluent in Portuguese after she studied abroad for six months in Santa Catarina, Brazil. After her study abroad program, she finished her bachelor's degree at Harvard College in 2013 where she learned Spanish and finished a study abroad summer program in Peru.
She began working in the legal field as the Executive Assistant and Paralegal for a small general practice firm in Northern Wisconsin until she moved to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in early 2016. She is from Washburn, Wisconsin and an avid lover of Lake Superior. She enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and scuba diving in her free time.
Alexa is the Executive Assistant for Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Linguistics at the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, MN. While in school she spent time student teaching in classrooms that ranged from immersion kindergarten to advanced high school Spanish. In addition, Alexa studied in Spain for a semester during which she took classes at La Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
She began her professional career in a bilingual sales role with AT&T. After the recent election, she wanted to find a way to help contribute to her community more directly. It was during this time that she began her career with Contreras Edin & Associates, PLLC.
Alexa grew up in the lake Minnetonka region of Minnesota. In her free time she enjoys singing, playing piano, riding her bike, and caring for her new kitty, Ann Perkins.
